Best Growth Stocks To Invest In Right Now

Investors in the fertilizer industry have something serious to think about. One of the leading nutrient producers, Agrium (NYSE: AGU  ) , is hanging up on two expansion projects -- It has suspended development work on a greenfield project in the U.S. Midwest area, while dropping plansto expand an existing plant in Alberta.

They weren't just any plans. The projects would have added more than 30% to Agrium's annual nitrogen production capacity, which currently stands at 5.5 million tonnes. Nitrogen is Agrium's primary product and, as the most widely applied nutrient, has tremendous growth potential, particularly in the U.S. More than 50% of the nitrogen consumed in the U.S. last year was comprised of offshore imports. According to Agrium's recent investor presentation, 12 to 14 new nitrogen plants will be needed if the U.S. were to become self-sufficient. So why did Agrium back off its plans despite the opportunities? The answers might surprise you.

Advisors' Opinion:

Ford continues to gobble up market share from GM and Chrysler. And now, Ford is giving Toyota(TM) a run for its money in the wake of some very costly recall announcements for the Japanese auto giant.

In early February, Ford announced that its January sales jumped 25%. Car sales made up the bulk of the gains, rising 43% over last year, while sales of trucks and SUVs rose 15%.

Some of this growth is due to a dismal January a year ago, when sales dipped to a 26-year low due to the financial crisis, but this growth is far beyond what Wall Street was expecting. In the wake of Toyota's recall fiasco, I expect February numbers to be equally impressive. That makes Ford a knockout buy for March.

I recommend you buy Ford stock as long as it trades for less than $15 a share.

    52-Week High: $13.05

    52-Week Low: $8.82

    Annual Revenue: $135.6 billion

    Projected 2013 Earnings Growth: 9.0%

Two years ago, I started a new tradition: picking a stock myself. In both years, it was iShares MSCI Brazil Index, an exchange-traded fund that tracks the Brazilian stock market. It bombed twice, and I am not going to that well again. I’m picking Ford Motor (symbol: F), whose heroic CEO, Alan Mulally, turned down bailout money and guided the business through tough times to 13 straight quarters of pretax profitability, including surprisingly strong earnings of $1.6 billion in the third quarter of 2012. Ford still has room to grow. Despite the firm's achievements, the stock has dropped 40% since early 2011, and the P/E is 8. The P/E is low because investors apparently don't believe that Ford can sustain those high profits. I think they're wrong and believe that Ford deserves a higher valuation.
